Yaphank NY Yellow Pages

Yaphank is a community in the southern part of the town of Brookhaven. The first name for the community was Millville, after the two mills that first occupied the area. The Long Island Railroad brought a station into Yaphank in 1843 and remains today. Yaphank was the home of Camp Upton, an Army base in the early 1900's. Today, the site is the home of the Brookhaven National Laboratory.

Yaphank has many activities for families. Yaphank is home to the Carmans River, which offers boating and fishing opportunities. The Suffolk County Farm and Education Center educates children and the community about farming practices on Long Island today and in the community's early years. Yaphank's warm community, humble roots and bustling modern industry make it a great suburban community.
